Modern Dental Concepts is committed to ensuring that our website and physical practice are accessible to all patients and visitors, including those with disabilities. We believe that quality dental care should be available to everyone.

Our Commitment

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those who use screen readers, voice control software, or keyboard-only navigation.

What We Have Done

  • All images include descriptive alt attributes (WCAG 1.1.1)
  • Text colour contrast meets WCAG AA minimums — brand accent colour is scoped to ensure 5.22:1 on light backgrounds and 7.75:1 on dark backgrounds (WCAG 1.4.3)
  • A skip navigation link is the first focusable element on every page, allowing keyboard users to bypass the navigation menu (WCAG 2.4.1)
  • A <main> landmark element wraps all page content, enabling screen reader users to jump directly to the primary content area (WCAG 1.3.1)
  • The site is fully navigable by keyboard; a visible :focus-visible indicator shows on every interactive element during keyboard navigation (WCAG 2.4.7)
  • Semantic HTML5 elements (<nav>, <main>, <footer>) and a logical heading hierarchy are used throughout (WCAG 1.3.1)
  • All navigation dropdowns include aria-expanded, aria-controls, and role="tablist" / role="tab" where appropriate (WCAG 4.1.2)
  • Decorative Font Awesome icons have aria-hidden="true" so screen readers skip them (WCAG 1.1.1)
  • Form response regions use role="alert" and aria-live="polite" so screen readers announce success and error messages automatically (WCAG 4.1.3)
  • All form fields include a visible <label for> element (WCAG 1.3.1, 3.3.2)
  • The site is responsive and usable on all screen sizes including mobile devices (WCAG 1.4.4)
  • Unique, descriptive <title> tags on every page (WCAG 2.4.2)
  • lang="en" declared on the <html> element (WCAG 3.1.1)

Known Limitations

We are continuously working to improve accessibility. Some older content or third-party embedded elements (such as Google Maps) may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We are actively working to identify and address these issues.

Physical Office Accessibility

Our Warren, OH office is designed to be accessible to patients with mobility needs:

  • Accessible parking spaces available in our lot
  • Wheelchair-accessible entrance
  • Accessible treatment rooms

Language Access

We can arrange interpretation services for patients who require communication in a language other than English. Please notify us when booking your appointment.
