- Osseointegration: Over roughly three to six months after placement, bone grows onto the textured titanium surface and locks the post in place. It cannot be rushed — it is biology, not glue.
- Your Crown, Made Here: Once the implant has healed, Dr. Singh designs and fits the custom porcelain crown on it in our Warren office — including implants placed elsewhere.

No. Implant placement surgery is referred out to a trusted oral surgeon or implant specialist. What we do here in our Warren, OH office is the restorative side — the abutment and the custom porcelain crown that goes on the implant — and we are glad to restore an implant that was placed by another provider. We plan the case with your surgeon and coordinate your treatment from start to finish.
Most implants take a few months from start to finish. After the titanium post is placed, the bone needs time to fuse to it (osseointegration) — usually three to six months — before the final porcelain crown is attached. Healing time varies from person to person, and we give you a personalized timeline at your consultation.
Placement is done by your surgeon under local anesthesia, so you should not feel pain during the procedure. Most patients find recovery more comfortable than expected — similar to a tooth extraction — and manageable with over-the-counter pain relief for a day or two.
Long-term studies report around 95% of implants still in place at ten years in healthy patients, and many last a good deal longer — but nobody can promise a particular implant will last a lifetime, and we will not. The porcelain crown usually needs replacing before the post does, often at 10 to 15 years or more. The main long-term threat is peri-implantitis, an infection of the gum and bone around the implant driven by plaque. An implant cannot decay, but the tissue holding it can still be lost, which is why hygiene and regular checkups genuinely matter here.
