Hygiene

Scaling & Root Planing (SRP)

Deep cleaning treatments require delicate gum care to resolve tenderness and ensure healthy re-attachment of gum tissue to the roots.

Quick Instructions:

  • Manage sore gums with warm salt water rinses.
  • Stick to a soft diet; avoid hot or spicy foods.
  • Use a soft toothbrush and brush very gently.
Surgical

Tooth Extraction

Post-extraction care centers around protecting the healing blood clot, preventing dry sockets, and reducing swelling.

Quick Instructions:

  • DO NOT spit, smoke, or use straws for 72 hours.
  • Maintain firm pressure on the gauze pad.
  • Apply ice to the cheek to limit facial swelling.
Restorative

Dental Implants

Healing guidelines focus on ensuring successful integration of the implant root by shielding the area from impact or disturbance.

Quick Instructions:

  • Do not touch or disturb the surgical implant site.
  • Eat soft, high-protein foods; do not chew on site.
  • Elevate head with pillows to minimize soreness.
Restorative

Dental Fillings

Post-filling comfort involves protecting numbed tissues and checking that your bite forces are correctly balanced.

Quick Instructions:

  • Avoid chewing foods until all numbness wears off.
  • Mild hot/cold tooth sensitivity is normal at first.
  • Contact us for a bite adjustment if it feels uneven.
Endodontic

Root Canal Therapy (RCT)

After endodontic care, guidelines seek to manage tooth tenderness and safeguard the tooth before the permanent crown.

Quick Instructions:

  • Avoid chewing on the tooth until the permanent crown.
  • Expect mild pressure sensitivity for 3-5 days.
  • Continue gentle brushing and flossing daily.
